I am 28 years old - born and raised in Colorado. I married my high school sweetheart almost 5 years ago. Faith and family are very important to me - I have a passion for helping others and desire to make a difference. I am a Disney fanatic, total kid at heart and this love for 'The Mouse' runs in my family!
Being only 5 ft 1 inches, my weight easily fluctuates and I always feel like I have to work harder at seeing results. I have always been an emotional eater - especially in High School and College. I remember in a health class having to get weighed as well as my body fat percentage calculated. I almost passed out when my body fat came up as 39%. I tried crash dieting, low-fat fads and would lose the weight but never keep it off. I was depressed, unhappy, and lacked confidence. I was on the dead-end diet merry-go-round. I would switch from one fad to another - consistently feeling deprived and never fully understanding nutrition.
Nutrition and clean eating began to click for me in the last year. I began a 30 day cleanse where I cut out dairy, gluten, processed sugar and processed foods. I ate whole, natural foods - I ate superfoods and healthy fats and I was amazed at how I felt and how much energy I had! I decided that I never wanted to go back to eating processed foods, they really dragged me down. After the cleanse, I continued juicing and make homemade smoothies. I was spending crazy amounts of money on the natural ingredients in my juice and smoothies to be sure I was getting a lot of nutrients.
One day, I was researching clean-eating and came across my Coach's blog and saw that she was recruiting people for a coaching program where you help others achieve their fitness and health goals. It intrigued me right away and within a few days I was signed up as a Beachbody Coach - it just felt right! Along with this, I also discovered an amazing product called, Shakeology. A shake with dense amounts of nutrients and superfoods. It included all the extra items I was adding to my shakes and tons more! I tried and immediately became hooked, it tasted fantastic and cost me far less than the homemade concoctions I was making.
Fast forward a little bit and I am now helping others on their fitness journey and excited about the future. I am at my lightest weight and lowest body fat percentage - at 19% right now and have lost 25 pounds from my heaviest weight. I continue to drink Shakeology along with 5-6 small meals a day and have never felt better. The best part is that I don't feel deprived, I am excited to workout and come up with new recipes. I have completed Insanity and will be documenting my journey with P90X3 here in the next few months.
I understand that everyone has different preferences, abilities, interests, and motivators in life. I want to know your own personal goals and help you get there. Please check back for updates on my fitness journey. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!
